Kyle joined Conchord
in 2002 when the band needed a replacement for lead guitarist.
Then bassist Bear Mitchell, a high school friend, asked Kyle to
learn the band's setlist and become the permanent guitarist. A
big fan of the band and their music for years, Kyle would travel
all over Michigan, including Beaver Island, to have a good time
and watch them perform. The opportunity to finally play with 'chord
was an offer he quickly accepted.
Kyle played with many people before
Conchord, mostly playing small shows ranging from auditoriums
to frat houses, basements to back porches. Although these jam
sessions helped to prepare Kyle for playing in a band, Conchord's
vast setlist and attention to detail greatly elevated his level
of playability.
Kyle is heavily influenced by artists
such as the Beatles, Eagles, Jimi Hendrix, James Taylor, Eric
Johnson, John Mayer, Chet Atkins, and various country and jazz
techniques. He continues to contribute to Conchord's ever changing
setlist and musical tastes.
